The Independent Theatre is Sydney's oldest Edwardian Theatre.
Grand arches in the main foyers, natural light in the 92 square metre Seaborn Room, all add elegance to the 300 seat tiered auditorium.
In 2012 after completion of major refurbishments The Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust announced that this unique part of Australia's performing arts history was to host The Independent Music Centre.
Upon the completion of refurbishment the true brilliance of the hall’s natural acoustic established the venue as one of the world's finest chamber music venues.
The Independent is now a valuable resource for local and international Chamber Musicians and Soloists, aiming to encourage the love of fine music and a venue which hosts a wide range of concerts for Patrons’ enjoyment and listening pleasure.
